From photographed floor plans to a playable spatial world.

Casa Cornell is a house being rebuilt from two photographs of its floor plans, and the reconstruction now lives somewhere you can move through. The exterior, the foyer and the great room share one world graph and one studio. The great room has an accepted playable floor with actors walking it; the exterior and foyer are open for inspection while their doorway crossings wait on reviewed evidence.

Eight preserved artifacts, in the order they were made, from the paper on the kitchen table to the room you can walk around in. The final frame is the V22 great room, where the current build supports grounded movement and animated actors.

Live reconstructions9 models

Nine reconstructions take turns on this stage.

These are the real bytes, loaded and lit in the site's own viewer. The camera drifts through the arc where each model still reads as the house, the grade shifts a little between models, and a click drops you into that reconstruction to drive it yourself.

00Chronology

Every experiment hands something to the next one.

The story starts with two photographs of hand-drawn plan sheets and runs through the first video-to-splat experiments, a measured retrace of the building, controlled exterior orbits and the live spatial studio. Failed runs stay in the record on purpose: several of them changed how the next round was designed, and the honest ones are as useful as the wins.

Photographed plans

Two phone photographs of hand-drawn sheets supplied room names, written dimensions and linework. A dimensional audit later caught serious errors in the first automatic extraction, which is what led to the measured retrace.

Early studyJuly–August 2026

Can one elevation become a 3D capture?

A single generated front view was pushed through seven video models, camera recovery, depth warping and Gaussian training. The strongest result is genuinely sharp near its source camera, and it taught the project its hardest lesson about how little one view can support.

Rebuilding the house from the written dimensions

The retraced plan became a two-floor solid with a roof and a complete exterior envelope, so the house finally had sides and a back. Exact cameras and line maps then guided four high-resolution appearance studies and three controlled orbits.

Animated geometry control around the full house

A 241-frame orbit rendered from the measured solid supplied the camera motion and silhouette frame by frame. The solve carried it all the way around the ring; the open problem is material detail, which fades on the side and rear elevations where no strong appearance reference exists yet.

Reconstructions become places in a persistent world

Exterior, foyer and great room hold stable identities inside one world graph. The Studio wraps them in cameras, rendering, editing, evidence and actors around a single canvas, and the great room is the cell you can walk today.

12What works now

Three spaces, one world, and a great room you can walk.

The exterior takes direct path drawing, first-person inspection and camera authoring inside its measured viewing range. The foyer can be inspected, and the V22 great room supplies measured ground, skeletal actors and locomotion that stays smooth across a restart.

The doorways stay closed for now, and that is a recorded decision with evidence behind it. Both thresholds need overlapping capture, an independently checked spatial transform and continuous walkable ground before cameras or actors cross them.

Available

Shared spatial studio

Camera, Render, Edit and Evidence work the same scene from four decks. Generate and Run feed their results back into the same dated catalog.

Implemented

Direct scene control

Mouse look, grounded keyboard movement, routes drawn on the floor, smooth actor turns, animation cues and manual camera ownership are all in the current build. Twelve curated evidence chapters expose 39 source, intermediate and result assets.

Limited view

Exterior reconstruction

The accepted south result is genuinely sharp across a narrow front-elevation arc. Later surface and Brush candidates chased wider coverage and lost coherence, and they remain in the record as evidence.

Unavailable

Doorway transfer

Both doorway crossings stay shut until an exterior-to-foyer or foyer-to-great-room transform passes the threshold and ground-continuity review.

One earlier fusion registered 104 of 104 images in a single model on the first try and stretched lateral coverage from 6.5 to about 13.8 units. The trade was 1.34 dB on the original arc, and the low-eye, pitch-down driveway view survived every cleanup attempt because no capture ever saw that ground at a grazing angle. The Capture chapter keeps the complete comparison, including what fixed and what refused to.

More recently, a five-view geometry-propagated study cleared its numeric held-out gate by a whisker: mean subject SSIM 0.5100, PSNR 15.0546. The browser then had the last word, finding streaks and ghosting the scores never predicted, so the splat stays a rejected study. The next paid f000 appearance request is staged and waiting on authorization. Follow the branch in Missing angles →
